Windowless Kingdom Halls
by drahcir yarrum insome time back, i had a disagreement with my brother-in-law, who even though he has doubts about the witnesses, still wants to put on the cloak of being a believer for his mother's sake.
while he acknowledges the doctrinal errors and abysmal treatment of the flock by their elders, he doesn't want to assign a malicious, controlling motivation to it.
i told him that i believed the idea of not having windows in kingdom halls was part of the brain washing that occurs during meeting after meeting during the weeks, months and years.

"Second, and more important, when the end was coming, and the government turned on the witnesses, they could hide in there, and no one would see them." Of course. Why didn't I think of that?

by gringojj inmy wifes dillusional mother has decided to carry mace for protection against her alleged stalker.
i wont even get into that craziness but i was just wondering if the wts has ever said anything against mace.

"The threat of violence was real back in Jesus’ day. One of his most famous parables, commonly called the parable of the Good Samaritan, related an incident involving violent robbery. (Luke 10:30-35) When Jesus asked his disciples to equip themselves with swords, it was not for protection." You just have to continue to be awed by "Witness logic". If Jesus had his disciples arm themselves with swords, then what the hell did he tell them to do it for? To slice ham for lunch? Also, to cite the violence of Jesus day as a parallel with the violence facing people today with drug crazed maniacs running around is just idiotic. If you or anyone else wants to carry mace and it isn't against the law where you live, carry the damn mace. Me, I prefer a 9 mm revolver!

Windows might provide an opportunity for the attendees to allow there minds to wander during the process of getting their minds made right. And so I've been keeping track of the Kingdom Halls I pass along the highways that I travel during the week and I can say with certainty that over 90% of the Kingdom Halls have NO windows to allow a view or light from the outside. However, I don't travel in the north or northeastern U.S. or outside of the country. Is it the same where you live? Kingdom Halls are windowless buildings for the most part?

Whenever, as a man I start to pout and whine about not getting enough sex, I try to think back on some episodes of Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel and I realize that human males just don't have it that bad. In the animal world of natural selection most male beasts have to fight with the strongest, baddest male competitor just to get the females attention. After getting his ass kicked, torn and chewed in a fight with the Alpha male, he still might not get any. The female might just run off into the woods. In the cat world, the poor male cat has to be very cautious when approaching the female for mating. She may just claw him a new one. And then after she finally lets him mate for a bit, she claws him again and runs him away until she's in the mood again. Well, okay, female cats aren't that much different than humans.

New Watchtower Distribution System...
by zeroday into expedite the final delivery of wt literature the watchtower has adopted a new distribution system.
as the rolls of paper and ink etc arrive at the printing facilities they go directly to the printing presses where 10's of thousands of books, magazines, tracts etc are printed every hour.
they are then packaged and sent to the shipping docks where they are loaded onto semi trucks.

I remember when our family moved while I was in high school and we had at least 10-12 boxes of old WT's and Awakes that had never seen the light of day. My mom wouldn't hear of throwing them out though. So we moved all of the boxes to our new house. I think 35 years later they may still be sitting in boxes somewhere. Of course it would be interesting to start thumbing through some of the older mags and see how much doctrinal backtracking there has been on just about every tenet.

Has anyone sued on basis of loosing loved ones due to blood doctrine?
by Hellrider ini was talking with someone not so long ago, that had lost their child due to the blood policy.
they were both active jws at the time, but has since left the religion.
the child died, and i`m just wondering: has anyone ever tried to sue the wts on basis of this?

Of all of the Witness doctrines that is the most reprehensible and repugnant, could there be one that exceeds the matter of blood transfusions for children? I mean really, if for some reason you were still clinging to any part of the JW belief system in a hope of not abandoning or being abandoned by friends and relatives, isn't this the one issue where you cannot bury your head? It is for me. It is the final nail in the coffin of the cult known as Jehovah's Witnesses.

Why don't witnesses celebrate their Baptismal Anniversary?
by JH in.
they celebrate their wedding anniversaries, so since baptism is even more important than marriage,"says the watchtower", why don't they celebrate it?
not that i would celebrate it though....

I used to know the date of my baptism but have long forgotten it. I like to think of it as just another bad decision in an otherwise boring youth. I only regret that I didn't knock off some more tail before getting baptized. The 3 years in between were a killer.

Interesting take by your mom. I knew that wars, rumors of wars, pestilence and earthquakes were signs of the end. . . but hurricanes? I guess if the Jews of Jesus day had found Miami Beach, hurricanes may have been a sign of the end.

I think it's unlikely that Jehovah cannot get good dental care. Keep searching!
